Potbelly - London Restaurant Reviews

I've strolled past Potbelly at Stratford London on many occasions and it's always caught my attention with it's name n all. However I never went any further than looking at Potbelly from the outside, and commenting on the name of the restaurant.

Well that all changed thanks to tempting pictures of Potbelly chocolate icecream cookies on instagram.

I went to Potbelly on a predictable cold, wet day. Stepping inside Potbelly it was so warm and cosy.

We were greeted by genuinely friendly, helpful staff. After going through the menu at Potbelly I had my eye on
three Potbelly sandwiches. Especially after learning that this branch of Potbelly don't use pork! Yay!

J and I shared a pizza sandwich and a buffalo chicken sandwich. All sandwiches at Potbelly come with a brown or white bread option. I found the brown bread at Potbelly a bit rough on the gums. The buffalo chicken sandwich includes strips of chicken, hot sauce and blue cheese pieces. I also added jalapeno and lettuce.

The buffalo chicken sandwich is pretty sour, and the blue cheese has a noticeably strong flavour - but I love it. The buffalo chicken sandwich costs £5.95. I tried the pizza sandwich, but I didn't like it much. It didn't taste like pizza to me.

Potbelly pizza sandwich contains beef pepperoni, beef meatballs, capicola, marinara sauce and provolone Cheese. Plus mushrooms & Italian seasoning. Potbelly pizza sandwich costs £5.95

The main attraction was a double choc icecream cookie sandwich. Vanilla ice cream is sandwiched between two rich, chewy, double chocolate chip cookies. The double choc chip cookies are wonderfully soft & chewy. Not too sweet and saved from being too rich by the refreshing ice cream crammed between.

The double chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich is rather filling and I was stuffed halfway through, forcing J to eat the rest.

To drink, I tried a rhubarb and apple drink by Cawston. I'm not usually a rhubarb fan, but I've found that rhubarb sweets tend to taste really good, so I thought I'd give the drink a try. I'm pleased to say that Cawston apple and rhubarb has now been added to my small circle of favourite sodas. It's lightly sparkling, with a taste like tasty sherbet, strawberry and custard hard boiled sweets.

When we were queuing at Potbelly, I said to J that the music sounded live - only to find out that there was a lady singing at the back of the restaurant slash cafe whilst strumming on a guitar! I think I'll go back to Potbelly in London to try the wreck Sandwich and an oreo cookie milkshake. Ooh yeah!
