Bread Ahead Bakery Doughnuts Review

I've been salivating over the endless photos of Bread ahead doughnuts that are shown off by greedy Instagrammers day after day.

It was high time that I got in on the action!

After purchasing a box of crosstown doughnuts at Old Spitalfields market I came across the Bread Ahead Bakery stall tucked away in a corner.

Dun dun duuunnnn! What should I do??

Bread Ahead Bakery Salted Caramel Doughnut and Chocolate Doughnut

Not one to back down from a challenge I was left with no choice. I decided to rescue
a salted caramel doughnut and a chocolate doughnut from Bread Ahead Bakery. It was the right thing to do. I mean they wouldn't stop screaming at me, begging me to eat them.

I asked the friendly server what the favourite culprits were. He told me that his fave was the chocolate filled doughnut. Being the chocoholic that I am, his go ahead was all the encouragement I needed to take one home with me.

I have to agree. The chocolate filled doughnut from Bread Ahead Bakery is pretty special. The super soft doughnut oozes with lots of smooth chocolate mousse. It's not too sweet, and the sugar granules on the outside of the doughnut aren't annoyingly sweet or too coarse like some doughnuts that I've tried.

The kind server also pointed to the infamous Bread Ahead Bakery salted caramel doughnut. Who can deny the beauty of this thing? A big chunk of salted honeycomb is placed into the opening where caramel mousse oozes out.

The salted honeycomb is very chewy. Slightly bitter and vaguely salted. The dough of bread ahead bakery salted caramel doughnut - as always, is super soft and fluffy. There's a bit too much filling for me though, and it's a tad too gloopy.

I would definitely purchase a chocolate filled doughnut again from Bread Ahead Bakery, but I'll probably give the salted caramel doughnut a miss.
