Poppies Fish And Chips Review

The day and age of decent fish and chips being found in every neighbourhood is well and truly over. Sadly good quality fish and chips has become a rarity.

This time round I was in Spitalfields for some good old fashioned fish and chips from Poppies of Spitalfields and Camden
Poppies Chip Box

Poppies cod and chips ain't
cheap at £8.50 for a regular portion.

Cod bites and chips is more reasonably priced at £5

Both are served hot, with fresh pieces of lemon.

Poppies fish and chips come in a nifty cardboard box which has newspaper print. Remnant of the good old days, when fish and chips came wrapped up in actual newspaper.

Poppies cod and cod bites are fresh and fluffy, with a crisp batter that's not greasy.

Poppies chips are hot and taste just how chip shop chips are supposed to. Yummy enough to be eaten without ketchup!

I doused mine in so much vinegar I nearly burnt off my nose!

Poppies was full to bursting at both locations in Spitalfields. It's a popular place, and though Poppies fish and chips taste good. How fish and chips are supposed to. It's a bit overpriced and a bit overrated.

My tip to you is to buy cod bites and chips instead of cod and chips. You basically get the same amount of good quality, fresh, battered cod but for almost half the price!
