The Diner Review - London City Food Blog

I love the menu at the diner. You're already in my good books if you offer an all day breakfast. London restaurants take note!

Besides an all day breakfast, the diner also rustle up a good selection of burgers, wraps and hotdogs. Plus unique food options like
red velvet pancakes, chola toast and waffle chips. You know I'll be back to The Diner for more!

All branches of the Diner are situated in good locations, with high people traffic and nearby transport options.

The Diner is a casual restaurant - Diner to be exact. Hence the name. Expect that authentic diner layout with booths plus stools at the bar.

The Diner do a good range of alcoholic drinks including hard teas. We don't drink so this wasn't of interest to us. J ordered a berry ice tea which was a bit too sour. I just got a fail safe root beer because I was rushing to order, so I didn't get a proper look at the drinks part of the menu.

The Diner Red Velvet Pancakes
For lunch at The Diner I went for some red velvet pancakes at £8 plus a small portion of buffalo chicken wings. I needed some meat to go with those carbs.

Soon after tucking in, I realised that the red velvet pancakes alone would have been enough for me. 6 thick, fluffy red velvet pancakes were laid out in front of me with fresh berries, cream cheese frosting and some optional maple syrup.

The red velvet pancakes were just right in consistency. Lovely and fluffy. They're not too sweet either, but if you want them sweeter pour some maple syrup why don't ya!

Fresh berries are on top, with more sandwiched somewhere in the middle of the red velvet pancake stack. It made for quite a sharp, tangy dish, but I loved it. It's something a little different.

My only complaint about the red velvet pancakes at the diner is that the cream cheese frosting tastes a bit bland and watery.

A decent amount of buffalo chicken wings arrived at the same time, and this was only the small portion. A small portion of buffalo chicken wings costs £6.

They aren't the best buffalo chicken wings I've ever had, but certainly not a bad batch either. The blue cheese dipping sauce was a little strong compared to some others that I've tried.

J ordered some cheesy chips and was glad that real stretchy cheese is used on top the skinny fries. He also ordered a hotdog as it was a beef frankfurter not pork. The original hotdog costs £7 and arrives in a soft brioche bun with ketchup and mustard as it should. I didn't try it, but J enjoyed it.

The food at The Diner is so filling. I could have stopped eating half way through the red velvet pancakes, but soldiered on a little longer.

Hasta la vista baby.
