Moba London Banh Mi Review

I got a little lost in London on my way to Moba.

Moba serve up some vietnamese style baguettes known in vietnam as Banh Mi. You can choose from three different baguettes. Then choose your filling and choose a sauce.

I chose a matcha baguette with lemongrass chicken and caramelised chilli sauce.

For my second baguette I chose the black - charcoal, seeded baguette. The black baguette at Moba is
made using bamboo charcoal. Bamboo charcoal is said to have detoxifying properties. Much like matcha. Luckily I snagged the last matcha baguette.

I took my Banh Mi home and the baguettes were just a little soggy which is a good sign, as it meant the baguettes were nice and soft.

The banh mi's come wrapped in insulating foil, with a quirky newspaper style print on the outside.

Opening the black sesame banh mi I could really smell the fragrant sesame seeds.

The Banh Mi contains fresh carrots, onions, peppers and a good amount of fresh coriander.

The sauces went unnoticed. I don't think enough sauce was added. The siracha mayo is supposed to be hot, but my baguette was milder than prince mild of mild street!

I couldn't taste the matcha in my matcha baguette.

The lemongrass chicken filling tastes fresh and flavoursome but strangely tastes a bit like tuna.

Sometimes I look at sandwiches and think I won't get full, but a Moba Banh Mi is actually nice & filling for lunch.

Also, I always expect the worst with baguettes, but thankfully Moba baguettes are soft and gum friendly.

The matcha green tea brownie is yumtastic. Soft and moist with a good amount of creamy white chocolate chips. The white chocolate chips have the perfect little bit of bite to them.

Moba matcha green tea brownie tastes like cake - not brownie, and you can't taste the matcha. Not complaining though. As I'd get this matcha brownie again, and again..and again! It's so buttery and not sickly sweet.
